K.B. Riley writes for the ones who feel everything too deeply and still choose to hope anyway. Her stories are born from the messy spaces between survival and healing, between the scars we hide and the love we dare to believe in.
Born and raised in Texas, Riley has always been drawn to storytelling as a way to connect, process, and make sense of the world. She first dreamed up The Chronicles of Fate more than a decade ago—while crashing on a friend’s couch, grieving a broken marriage, and carrying more pain than anyone should have to bear. Through years of trauma, survival, and slow healing, the story waited. And she kept coming back to it.
Now, over ten years later, stability has found her. So has softness, and something sacred. Marked by Fate is the book that waited for her to be ready, and she hopes it finds the readers who need it most—just like it found her.
When she’s not writing, Riley helps manage The Woods Park & Pavilion, a nonprofit event venue that supports Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary. She also enjoys playing the flute, reading, volunteering, bingeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and getting way too emotionally invested in video games.
Marked by Fate is her debut novel and the first in The Chronicles of Fate series, where she explores identity, choice, and the quiet rebellion of becoming who you truly are. She currently lives in Marion, Ohio with her family and their fur babies, where she continues to write the next chapter.
